Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Northern Sparrowhawk)

Pennaceous upper portion with tightly interlocked barbs and barbicels, transitioning into a plumulaceous (fluffy) downy base at the proximal end.

Smooth and firm on the upper pennaceous portion, soft and fluffy at the base. Matte finish with no structural iridescence.

Woodlands, forests, wooded agricultural areas, parks, and gardens, preferring areas with dense cover for ambush hunting.
