Eurasian Collared-Dove (Collared Dove)

The Eurasian Collared-Dove is a medium-sized, slender dove with a distinctive narrow black half-collar on the back of its neck. Its plumage is predominantly a soft sandy-grey to buff-brown color with darker wingtips. Known for its steady, direct flight and monotonous cooing call, it is a highly adaptable species thriving in human-modified landscapes.

Pale grayish-buff or creamy off-white coloration with subtle tonal variations, typical of the soft cryptic plumage found on doves.

Pennaceous at the distal tip transitioning into plumulaceous (fluffy) downy barbs toward the base; barbs are partially separated and frayed on the lower right side.

Soft and silky texture with a matte appearance; vane has moderate flexibility with no oiliness or powdery bloom.

Pale sandy-gray to off-white coloration, rounded tip, and the characteristic transition from a pennaceous upper vane to a plumulaceous base typical of dove body feathers.
