Description
The Mourning Dove is a slender, medium-sized dove with a long, tapering tail, small head, and a graceful appearance. Their plumage is predominantly muted grey-brown with black spots on the wings and dark-bordered pinkish patches on the neck. They are famous for their melancholy cooing song and explosive, whistling takeoff when flushed.
