Helmeted Guineafowl

The Helmeted Guineafowl is a distinctive, plump ground-dwelling bird with a nearly featherless blue head, a bony reddish casque, and dark slate-gray plumage uniformly spangled with white spots. They are gregarious birds that travel in flocks, running rather than flying when disturbed, and known for their loud, grating alarm calls.
