Feral Pigeon (Rock Dove)

The feral pigeon is a familiar resident of cities and towns worldwide, descending from the wild rock dove. They are robust birds with short necks, stout bodies, and a characteristic bobbing head motion while walking. Their plumage is famously variable due to domestic breeding, but slate-gray is the classic wild type.
