Budgerigar (Budgie, Common Parakeet, Shell Parakeet)

The Budgerigar is a small, long-tailed, seed-eating parrot. Wild specimens are typically bright green below with yellow and black banded mantles, while captive breeding has produced an enormous variety of color mutations including blue, white, yellow, and violet. They are highly social, noisy, and gregarious birds that travel in large flocks.
