Red-tailed Hawk (Red-tail)

The Red-tailed Hawk is a powerful and robust raptor with broad, rounded wings and a short, wide tail. Adults typically feature a rich reddish-brown upper tail, pale underparts with a streaked belly band, and dark patagial marks on the leading edge of the wings.

Breeds from interior Alaska and Canada down through all of the United States, Central America, and the West Indies

Red-tailed Hawks have incredible eyesight, capable of spotting a mouse from a height of 100 feet, and their iconic, raspy scream is frequently used in Hollywood films to sound like any soaring eagle or hawk
